HISTORY

1995 - 1998

Becoming an expert of "wood"

Mexteam was established,
laying the foundation for the company’s development and cultivating a team that deeply understands wood and speaks the “language of wood.”

1995

The Group’s first company, Mexteam International Trading Co., Ltd., was established.
It began collaborations with Japanese companies such as Sawasho, Daiken Industries, Marubeni, Panasonic Electric Works, Mitsui & Co., and Itochu, exporting raw timber, laminated boards, and other architectural and furniture materials.

1997

Mexteam Wood Products Co., Ltd., also known as Mexteam’s First Factory, was established, primarily processing solid wood and hollow-core board furniture components for export to the Japanese market.
Collaborated with companies such as Eguchi Lumber and Konagai Copper to learn professional wood-processing techniques.

1999 - 2010

Upgraded technology and established a management system for large-scale production.

Transformed from raw materials to finished products,
built a professional management system,
and established a “zero-inventory” flexible production model.

1999

Established the second factory for painted furniture components;
collaborated with Japan’s Shirai Industrial Co., Ltd. and Taiyo Co., Ltd. to begin manufacturing and exporting ready-to-assemble furniture parts.

2001

Partnered with Sealy Bed, Sealy’s manufacturing company in Japan, to produce and export storage beds;
collaborated with Kojima Craft and Kyuwoya to export specialized wood processing products.

2002

Established the third factory

2005

Achieved ISO9000 certification;
Japanese clients fully authorized Mexteam QC to conduct all product inspections.

2006 till now

Shifted focus to collaborating with brands, beginning to provide services for commercial store projects.

Building on our expertise and scalable management, we serve brands and commercial projects—
hotels, restaurants, and stores—while shaping our design philosophy and global design resources.

2006

The fourth factory was established, creating a complete furniture production base.

2008

Custom R&D for MUJI was initiated,
and collaboration with Japan’s SINCOL was established for hotel and retail fixtures, including UNIQLO stores.

2009

Began providing products and services for Japanese brands including ACTUS, TOKYO Interior, IDEE, and Kagu.

2011

Started full collaboration with Japan’s NITORI on Mexteam’s self-developed products,
recognized as NITORI's excellent supplier in China and earning multiple awards for product development and quality management,
and sharing quality insights at annual supplier conferences.

2011 till now

Launched our own brand, initiating a strategic expansion into the Contract business

The Mexarts brand was born to create and share beauty through artistic design.
Mexarts Contract serves hotels, apartments, restaurants, offices, and public spaces, offering end-to-end solutions from design to product development.

2011

Underwent group transformation with the establishment of Mexarts Group
Launched the proprietary brand Mexarts.
Began strategic expansion of Contract business, focusing on hotels, restaurants, and office spaces.

2013

Began collaborations with Danish furniture, lighting, and carpet design brands, including Eilersen, Onecollection, PP Møbler, Linie Design, and Louis Poulsen.

2014

Established the Mexarts Design Institute.
Signed collaborations with Danish brands Bolia, Muuto, Hay, and Menu (Audo) to co-develop new furniture products for the European market.

2015

Mexarts' own products exported to Japan, Singapore, Europe, and North America, with some selected for high-end hotels, restaurants, offices, and commercial projects.

2016

Mexarts Contract business fully launched, delivering projects across hotels, apartments, and chain restaurants, including international hotels like Westin, Hilton, and Kempinski, as well as global coffee chains such as Starbucks and Peet's Coffee.

2017

The world’s second Starbucks Reserve Roastery opened in Shanghai, marking Mexarts as a global partner for Starbucks Reserve Roasteries, followed by projects in Tokyo, New York, and Chicago.
Expanded MUJI store fixture services, delivering products to 281 stores in just over a year.

2018

Signed a strategic partnership with Yamaha Design Research Institute, launching the cross-disciplinary Mexarts Music collection with the “The Singing Desk,” which won the Red Dot Best of the Best Concept Award.
Provided products for NIO House in Hangzhou by West Lake.

2019

Launched Xiaomi Youpin’s (a top e-comerce brand in China) first offline flagship store in China, providing complete services from store design to fixture and product solutions.

2021

Designed and delivered the flagship experience center for XPeng Motors in Chengdu, providing comprehensive services from architecture and interior design to furniture and store fixtures. Established product collaborations with Australian design brands CITTA and Eva.

2022

Achieved ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001 certifications, as well as BSCI and FSC international supply chain certifications.
Established collaborations with Swedish and Danish design brands COOEE and Karakter.
Provided standardized design, R&D, and product services for hotel groups including Hilton, Junting, and Dongcheng.

2023

The green photovoltaic power project at the third factory was officially connected to the grid and began operation, advancing sustainable production.

2024

Delivered projects for international apartment and hotel brands, including Greystar and Ascott.
